Freeze from sapphire heavens creates white earth,
melting to steady rain, sparking rebirth.
Soon, sun burns a fierce smolder,
long days turn to nights colder,
as colors fall, fading, crackling last mirth.

Heart pounding, she slipped on nearest shoes,
Thinking, how did I miss all the clues?
Why would he betray us?
Am I superfluous?
Feet fleeing, soul battered and bruised.

Add dash of giggle, splash of molasses;
powdered sugar all over our asses.
Throw in boisterous grin,
as he gives me a spin;
cookies would taste grand, but he’s delicious!
