Dust

I am so honored to be one of ten finalists for the 2018 Bermuda Triangle Prize sponsored by The Poet’s Billow. I am humbled to be in such talented and gifted company.

If you’d like to read my poem, you can do so here by scrolling down a bit to Angela Kay, Dust. All ten finalists are available for reading via the link. If you’d like to read the three winning poems you can do so here.

Thank you!

    • I donโ€™t see it in my notifications, thatโ€™s weird! Who knows??

Thank you so much, Bojana, for your kindness and support! I appreciate you very much. ๐Ÿ’œ Iโ€™m so happy you enjoyed it. I recently entered a local contest and submitted for this same contest for 2019. I donโ€™t really know what more Iโ€™ll do, Iโ€™m just feeling it out! I appreciate your encouragement so much. ๐Ÿ’œ

      • It feels nice, doesn’t it, to receive such recognition? Writing is still a very solitary, contemplative and intimate activity, we don’t expect red carpets and shit, but the more recognition we get, the more we push our own boundaries, and I love that – challenging our brains and hearts some more.
        (always, hun, and yes…SUBMIT more)

        • It does, and while I try really hard not to compare myself to others, it is very flattering to be in such highly decorated company. And to just be recognized, especially for a poem I composed as an odd train of thought in like 2 minutes as I was trying to go to sleep, haha. I understand that was likely a fluke and Iโ€™m ok with that. Most of the time I have to work much harder at it.

Thatโ€™s so true, and I really enjoy pushing boundaries and learning more about myself (and others too!). Yes, challenging our brains and hearts some more, thatโ€™s my favorite part!

          Thank you, again. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’œ
